I love my new/old plates!

April 30, 2009

So a few weeks ago, I was reading over on greenandcrunchy and she was talking about how she gives lunch to her kids in these plates with "compartments" and how addicted she is to making sure all the areas are filled. That reminded me I have some similar plates that were stored in my box for dishes that are only used for special occasions (aka, had not used them in over 2 years). So I decided to try them out with my kids. They were both going through a food jag and not eating either fruits or cooked veggies, and it was driving me CRAZY!!!

Well, they are a hit! When I dont serve lunch in these plates, my son asks for them. And he, just like me, is addicted in making sure all the areas are filled with lots of yummy healthy foods.

The proof is in the pictures. I got them eating peas for the first time in months. Yeah, I said months. I always have veggies with every meals, and neither of them were eating them. I now have them eating things like raw organic nuts and seeds, fresh fruits and veggies and green smoothies turned into popsicles thanks to these plates!

Thanks Sheri for the wonderful "plate" idea! (and for the green smoothie into a popsicle one as well).

Our Baby Girl's 2nd birthday

April 24, 2009

On Easter weekend, we celebrated my baby girl's 2nd birthday since the family was all gathered together. She had a Strawberry Shortcake theme and it made her SO happy!

And of course, what is a Strawberry Shortcake theme party without a strawberry shortcake! I think the kids had lots of fun and she was so happy!

She enjoyed her cake more than my little guy. I think he was upset that the icing was not icing, but whipped cream.

And here she is reading a Strawberry Shortcake book I managed to find. It has buttons to the side that make sounds to go with the story. She loves it!

Happy 2nd Birthday Baby Girl! We love you!

Wow, my own blog! It's kind of strange considering I had never read a blog until last week. I stumbled upon greenandcrunchy and she inspired me. Not just to write a blog, but mostly inspired me as a mom. I managed to loose myself as a person since becoming a mom and lately, I've been doing some soul searching. So I decided to write a blog in part to help me find myself. I'm sure I'm not the only stay at home mom out there who sometimes strugles raising toddlers, who hasent had a haircut in way too long or a date with her husband in... let just not go there. I want to share my thoughts, some stories, links to some awsome finds, pictures and recipes too.

So welcome to my new blog, I hope you will enjoy!
